Generating Electricity Using A Solar Panel

9 August 2010 No Comment

Many researches are being experimented in the use of solar energy and its capabilities for the enhancement of daily living. Plants are made in a way that they can convert energy produced by the suns rays into fuel. Humans have not quite got the hang of this process yet but, we have learned how to generate electricity from the photonic energy of the sun. It is frequently asked exactly “How is electricity generated using solar panels?”

The largest energy giving body in relation to the earth, is the sun. The suns light and energy is actually capable of supplying enough current to power the whole world. However we have not the understanding yet, of how to go about doing this.

Solar cells are what we currently use to generate solar energy. The tiny cells are built up of many little silicone crystals. The sun gives off light rays which in turn can be absorbed in the form of energy within the cells itself. This energy can be directly converted in electrical power or current. This process is done through using solar panels.

Solar panels are made up of many solar cells arrayed across a board. Different types of solar cells are capable of holding varying amounts of energy. For instance, solar cells used top power household appliances are different from those that are used on a satellite.

Solar panels should be fixed onto a weather protected board and should be placed in an area that receives the most sunlight through the day. Every little solar cell on the solar panel will collect small amounts of photoninc energy being produced by the sun. When a number of solar panels are connected to one another, it is possible to generate a decent amount of power. Energy collected inside the cells can be transferred as electrical power through your household power supply. It is now possible to operate various appliances with the use of solar energy.

A battery system and a charge controller can recharge and store your power supply during the day so it is possible to have electrical current generated at night when the sun is no longer able to provide photonic energy.

The world is presently reliant on fossil fuels, but the hope of solar evolution creates hope for a greener future.
